Patent attorneys are official representatives certified by the state for the right to provide legal assistance in the field of protection and protection of intellectual (industrial) property.
Persons with a specialized (legal and/or technical) education, at least 5 years of experience in the specialty related to the protection of intellectual property, and who have passed the attestation exam at the National Center for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Belarus with a positive result, have the right to become a patent attorney.
The patent attorney of the Republic of Belarus has the authority to represent the interests of his clients before the National Center for Intellectual Property, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Eurasian Patent Office, Rospatent, customs authorities, antimonopoly authorities, law enforcement agencies, in the Board of Appeal under the patent authority, the Judicial Collegium for Intellectual Property of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus, in courts of general jurisdiction, before other bodies and organizations on any issues related to the creation, protection, use and protection of intellectual (industrial) property rights, including trademarks, inventions, utility models, industrial designs, geographical indications and other objects.
